This is really a masterpiece of the genre. The lead vocals have nuance and unusual colors, the harmonies are gorgeous, the instrumentation is varied, beautiful, satisfying...and the songwriting is totally unique and compelling. This week it's the chorus of "Shades of Grey" that I can't get out of my head. The album largely chronicles the inner and outer experience of a stepfather and his deep and often heart-wrenching love for his wife and daughters...do yourself a favor and listen (and buy it).
